Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication

SeqOps supports two multi-factor authentication methods: an authenticator app (TOTP) with single-use recovery codes, or a one-time code sent by email. Every user should enrol as standard practice.

Setting Up an Authenticator App

1. Go to Settings → Security.
2. Choose the authenticator app (TOTP) option.
3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password.
4. Enter the verification code from the app to activate it.
5. Save your recovery codes somewhere safe. Each recovery code works once.

Using Emailed One-Time Codes

1. Go to Settings → Security.
2. Enable email-based one-time codes. You need to verify your email address first.
3. When you sign in, SeqOps emails you a code. Each code is valid for roughly ten minutes.

Recommended Practice

• •Enable multi-factor authentication before you invite others or connect infrastructure.
• •Ask every invited user to enrol when they join. See Inviting Teammates and Understanding Roles.
• •Keep recovery codes out of the same place as your password.
