SeqOps Policy Configuration
Configure analysis policies to control how vulnerability and configuration analysis is applied across monitored environments.
Policy configuration allows organizations to tailor vulnerability and configuration analysis to match their infrastructure and compliance requirements. Policies define the rules used by SeqOps to evaluate infrastructure configurations and identify security risks. Policies influence how findings are generated and reported within the platform.
Overview
Policies control how vulnerability and configuration analysis is applied across monitored environments. Policies define how the platform evaluates configurations and identifies potential security risks. Policies are applied automatically to resources detected in connected cloud environments and monitored servers.
Policy Types
Policies may include rules related to:
- •Vulnerability analysis
- •Configuration checks
- •Compliance framework evaluations
Built-in Policies
SeqOps includes pre-built policies aligned with major compliance frameworks. Enable them from the Compliance settings page.
Custom Policies
Create custom policies using the policy builder:
- Define the resource scope (which assets to evaluate)
- Set the evaluation criteria (what to check)
- Configure remediation guidance (how to fix failures)
- Assign severity level and compliance mapping
How Policies Are Applied
Policies are applied automatically to resources detected in connected cloud environments and monitored servers. When analysis runs, SeqOps evaluates each resource against the active policies and generates findings based on the results.
Editing a Policy
- Open the policy configuration section in the SeqOps platform.
- Select the policy to modify.
- Adjust the relevant configuration rules.
- Save the updated policy.
Policy Groups
Organize policies into logical groups for easier management. Map groups to specific compliance requirements for streamlined reporting.
Best Practices for Policy Configuration
Recommended practices:
- •Review policy settings regularly.
- •Align policies with your selected compliance frameworks.
- •Test policy changes before applying them broadly.
